CME Information

Needs Statement

Pediatric hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, pediatric surgery, and radiology physicians, residents, fellows and medical students need to be regularly updated on advances in the diagnosis and management of patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies. The series aims to broaden the knowledge base of learners in these topic areas and improve their competencies to enhance the patient care experience and outcomes.

Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Identify both general and specific dietary challenges in a pediatric oncology population.
  • Demonstrate greater understanding of nutritional goals for pediatric oncology patients and of the various methods to achieve these goals.
  • Recognize common dietary concerns families of pediatric oncology patients have and address them appropriately.
