Professional Statement
Dr. Jaime Ortiz practices Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He currently serves as Deputy Chief of Anesthesiology, Director of Regional Anesthesia, and as Co-Director of the Acute Pain Management Service at Ben Taub Hospital. He enjoys teaching residents and students in the perioperative setting. Dr. Ortiz teaches regularly at local, national and international anesthesiology meetings. He is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. He has served on editorial boards and as an ad hoc reviewer for several anesthesiology journals. Dr. Ortiz's academic, clinical and research interests include acute pain management, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, point-of-care applications of ultrasound, simulation, resident education, quality improvement, patient safety, and operating room efficiency.
