Dr. Burt is Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Burt is a Harvard-trained thoracic surgeon and surgical oncologist who prides himself on providing the highest level of care for his patients, without exception. Dr. Burt uses state-of-the-art surgical technology, is a skilled robotic surgeon, and enjoys the art and science of multi-disciplinary patient care. Dr. Burt is an academician dedicated to the clinical, education, and research missions of the BCM Division of Thoracic and to every member of its team. Dr. Burt is a surgeon-scientist with an NIH-funded laboratory and an active research program. Dr. Burt's research effort is focused on improving the conditions that he treats in the clinic and its objective is to advance the standard of care for his patients.
